The Natural Learning Research Institute is a not-for-profit, 501(c)3 organization. It was created by individuals from many educational settings, including public and private schools, university professors and researchers, the public service and human resource development.
Affiliations
The advisory board and research faculty represent a wide range of institutions and organizations including the University of California, Los Angeles, the Claremont Graduate Colleges, California State University, San Bernardino, Pepperdine University and the University of Arizona. It is currently pursuing affiliation with other foundations and universities.
Location
The Institute is located in the small mountain community of Idyllwild, California.
The Institute's work is grounded in the system principles of natural learning developed by Renate and Geoffrey Caine and on the theory and processes that they have been developing and testing for almost 20 years. It constantly explores other fields of research that support its efforts, including current understanding about the nature of expertise, the design and impact of video games, authentic leadership, organizational development, communities of practice and systems theory.
